Hampton Roads Services & Support was born from a simple mission:

Ensuring that those who served our country have a place to call home.

Hampton Roads Services and Support (HRS&S) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential support and building a stronger, more supportive community for individuals, families, and veterans in the Hampton Roads region.

Our journey began in 2005, fueled by a personal dedication to housing veterans in the Hampton Roads area. For over 15 years, we operated on the front lines, witnessing firsthand the unique challenges veterans and their families face when transitioning to civilian life. We saw that “support” meant more than just a roof over their heads; it meant stability, dignity, and a community that understands the weight of their sacrifice.

Inspired by the resilience of the families we served, we officially formed our nonprofit in 2021 and secured our 501(c)(3) status. This formal step allowed us to scale our impact, moving from individual acts of assistance to a structured organization capable of providing long-term housing solutions and comprehensive support services.

Today, we continue to honor that 20-year legacy. We aren’t just a service provider—we are a bridge to a better future for our veterans and the families who stand beside them.

Long-Term Grassroots Roots:

Unlike many newer organizations, our work began in 2005 with a personal, front-line dedication to housing veterans. This 20-year legacy of direct action predates our formal 501(c)(3) status by over 15 years.

Focus on the Entire Family:

Your mission is specifically dedicated to supporting both veterans and their families, acknowledging the unique challenges they all face during the transition to civilian life.

Holistic Approach to Support:

We recognize that support for veterans means more than just providing a roof; it encompasses stability, dignity, and community.
